We are delighted to share the beginning of a very special relationship with Independent MP, Claudia Webbe, who recently visited Gokul-Vrandavan Residential Home.  This was a momentous occasion marked by our shared commitments to foster the wellbeing of our Leicester East community. It wasn’t simply a routine visit, but a chance to showcase the heart of Asian care traditions and the special features of Gokul-Vrandavan as a home.

Claudia Webbe was born in raised in Leicester and has a close connection and fierce protection of the city. Her pride in the achievements of Leicester shines through and with this her determination to better the lives of those living in the area. With routes in left-wing ideology, Claudia has strong beliefs in the protection and defence of the many, with admiration for all communities that make up our wonderful and diverse city. This makes her an excellent ambassador for our diverse community in Midlands Care.

Claudia’s visit comprised of a tour of the home, with the opportunity to ask questions and speak to the residents about their experience. She was enthusiastic and happy to get involved, spending time with manager Nicki and members of the head office team in an attempt to gain a real understanding of the workings of our care. She even enjoyed tucking into a sit down lunch, prepared by our talented chef, showcasing some of the dishes our residents enjoy the most.

Having spoken to Claudia since her visit, we are happy to say that she heavily praised the vibrant and happy atmosphere and the true care shown by staff. She thought it rare to see and would be delighted to work with us further. Having recently gone back for a cultural event to spend some more time with the team. The real mission of her visit being two-fold: to better understand care in Leicester and to find out how she might support us. It was a delight to get to know Claudia and welcome her into our home and it is especially gratifying to know that she too sees just how special a place it is.
