Testimonials

  • The biggest and best asset of Portland House is its staff, who are all genuinely caring and friendly people and mostly long-time employees. This combined with the homely (recently redecorated) older style interior, make my dads life there a happy one.

  • Very happy with the care offered to my Aunty. She has been a resident at your home since May and has settled in well with the help and support of staff. The Manager is always on hand to answer any questions. We have recently attended a relatives meeting which was very informative. When considering care for my Aunty and visiting a number of local homes, the welcome and facilities at your home was by far the best.

    KS, Leicestershire

  • The carers at your home really do care for all the residents with kindness and also support the family members. Dad has been a resident since November 2018. Prior to this, he frequently visited a friend in your home and when Dad became unable to care of himself the only care home he wanted to live in was yours. He said because all the carers knew him and made him feel comfortable and the food was very wholesome and traditional which Dad liked. The management is excellent and always available for a chat and visible within the home.

    RMS, Warwickshire

  • I really enjoyed visiting my grandma at your home. Everyone was so welcoming and I couldn't have asked for a more homely atmosphere. My grandma was telling me all about the fun activities she had been involved with over the weekend. The carers are so caring and they really do show it. I know my grandma is well looked after and I always look forward to travelling and seeing everyone at the home.

We understand that food is more than just sustenance. It is a source of comfort and pleasure. Mealtimes are also an opportunity for social interaction, bringing residents together to share stories and enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Engaging Social Activities and Events

Staying socially active is just as important as receiving good care. That is why we offer a full schedule of activities to keep residents engaged, entertained, and stimulated. Our activities include arts and crafts, music therapy, gardening, exercise classes, and group outings.

Every resident has the opportunity to participate in activities that match their interests and abilities. These activities help residents build friendships, stay mentally active, and feel part of a supportive community.
