Catering
The daily menu is displayed early in the day on the dining tables. The Menu is varied each day. The menu is varied for Breakfast, Lunch & Tea. All our meals are freshly prepared in our own kitchens. Service users are usually encouraged to eat in the dining room but may choose eat in their bedroom if this is their choice. Visitors may dine with Service Users subject to prior notice.

Should any service user require a meal out of these hours due to medical appointments etc. then alternative arrangements are always made possible. You may have a packed lunch if you are going out for the day providing your request is made with sufficient notice. Tea, coffee or other hot or cold drinks are available 24 hours a day alongside snacks if service users get hungry between meals.

Religious Worship and Services
Service users may attend religious services either within or outside the home, as they may desire. Service users should, if possible, arrange for transport and accompaniment with friends or relatives for external services. If this is not possible, care staff of Midlands Care may accompany service users should staffing levels permit at the escort extra charge rate. You have the right to meet clergy of your chosen denomination at any time.

Telephone, Mobile, Internet and Email
We have a wireless telephone which services users may use for incoming calls. Service users may choose to have a private telephone line installed at their own expense. This must be discussed and agreed with the home manager prior to installation and connection. Services users also have the choice to have a personal mobile phone should they wish to have one.

Midlands Care can provide internet and email to those service users who may wish to use such facilities. This would need to be arranged through the home manager.

Newspapers and Magazines
Service users may have newspapers and magazines delivered by a local newsagent; provided full responsibility for starting and stopping supply and costs.

  • The Leys
    All too often we hear negative reports about care for the elderly. I would like to say something positive about the care home that my mother in law lived in. Sadly, she passed away in April 2014, but she lived at The Leys, Booth Rise, Northampton, for the last six and a half years of her life. They showed her nothing but compassion, affection and respect. The staff were dedicated, friendly and always treated everyone with respect. People who choose to be carers are really special people. I sincerely thank all the staff at The Leys for the excellent care they gave to my mother in law.

    The home is very clean and never smells. The staff are very kind to residents and to myself. The food is very good an lots of encouragement to eat is given by the staff. Health and safety always being attended to. Activities for people with dementia I have only put good because they cant always participate due to the demand so only good. I feel I can always ask staff for support. Mum was in other home this is much better and Abbey the manager is excellent
